    Appointment of Chief Executive


    Acertec, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of engineered steel products for use in the automotive and construction markets,
announces the appointment of David Hussey as Chief Executive, effective today.

    David, aged 59, is currently a Non-Executive Director of Acertec. Until its recent acquisition by Cookson PLC he was an Executive
Director of Foseco plc, a world leader in products and solutions for improving performance in the foundry and steelmaking industries, where
he was Chief Executive of its Foundry division, overseeing 2600 staff and 17 manufacturing plants across the world. Under David's
stewardship Foseco's Foundry division enjoyed a period of strong growth, most recently enjoying 4 successive record years of performance
with turnover reaching approximately �350 million. Prior to Foseco David enjoyed a successful career with Burmah Castrol plc in the UK and
Germany. 

    David will stand down from his role as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, a role in which he will be replaced by Adrian Burn,
Acertec's Senior Independent Director.  

    David replaces John Sword, aged 65, who is stepping down from the Board and will be leaving the Group in due course.

Acertec will benefit greatly from his experience. Following the recent appointment of Jonathan Cook as Finance Director, I am confident we
