Thyssenkrupp AG (TKA.XE) said late Thursday that the Brazilian
Navy has chosen its Aguas Azuis consortium to build four new
corvette class vessels.
The consortium, which also includes Embraer SA's (EMBR3.BR)
defense-and-security arm and its technology group Atech, will form
a special-purpose company in Brazil to undertake the project.
Thyssenkrupp said the consortium will build the ships in the
Alianca-Oceana shipyard in Santa Catarina state.
Neither company disclosed the value of the contract.
