ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd. (ACL.JO) said Friday that its Newcastle plant is back at full capacity as of the beginning of December.

In August, the company said a part of its Newcastle facility collapsed and it would take three months to fix the blast furnace. The company then estimated it would lead to the loss of about 400,000 tons of steel.

"The company is working hard to eliminate the sales backlog as soon as possible," said the steelmaker, the South African unit of the world's biggest steel producer ArcelorMittal (MT).
