RIO DE JANEIRO—Brazil's state-run oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA on Thursday reported third-quarter net loss of 3.76 billion reais ($997 million), compared with a loss of 5.3 billion reais a year earlier, after a sharp fall in the Brazilian currency and sustained low oil prices.

Petrobras' Ebitda increased 83% to 15.51 billion reais over the same period last year, helped by higher fuel prices in Brazil.

The company's revenue was 82.24 billion reais, down 6.9% from the previous year.
