PECO has restored electric service to nearly all of the more
than 155,000 customers left without electric service by Thursday’s
severe thunderstorm.
Working throughout the holiday, PECO crews, contract personnel
and support from utilities from Pittsburgh, Connecticut and
Massachusetts, as well as crews from PECO’s sister utility in
Baltimore, have restored service to more than 150,000 customers in
less than 36 hours.
As of 7 a.m. Saturday, approximately 3,500 customers remain
without service due to the storm. The company expects to have all
customers restored today.
Additional crews from utilities in Ohio and Virginia will join
the effort to help restore service to customers today. The
company also has enhanced staffing in place in the company’s call
center, dispatch centers and in the field to respond to customer
needs.
Crews have been working around-the-clock to safely restore
service to all customers impacted by the storm. The company’s
Emergency Response Organization remains activated and all available
personnel are responding to restore service as safely and quickly
as possible.
We understand that customers are inconvenienced when they are
without service, and crews will continue to work to safely restore
service as quickly as possible. PECO urges customers to stay safe
and always stay away from any storm damaged electrical equipment,
especially downed power lines and tree limbs that may come into
contact with power lines.
