EVERETT, Wash., Aug. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Everett
Clinic, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners (NYSE: DVA), today
announced two transitions among its senior leadership. As
of Sept. 1, Rick Cooper will be the
northwest regional market president for DaVita HealthCare Partners
and Chris Knapp will be The Everett Clinic's chief executive
officer.
The Everett Clinic, a medical group of 500 providers located in
Snohomish County, Wash., joined
DaVita HealthCare Partners, a leading independent medical group and
a leading provider of kidney care services in the United States, in March 2016.
"DaVita will employ Rick's experience, expertise and regional
influence in a new role as northwest market president and Chris has
demonstrated outstanding leadership and is ready to lead The
Everett Clinic as CEO," said DaVita HealthCare Partners' Chief
Operating Officer Joe Mello.
In more than 30 years as CEO of The Everett Clinic, Cooper has
helped establish the Clinic as one of the most successful
independent medical groups in the Pacific Northwest. With his
leadership, the Clinic has been known for its excellence in patient
care, innovation that helps lower the cost of care and provides
price transparency, and recognition in Fortune
Magazine as a best place to work and as a top corporate
philanthropist. In his new role, Cooper will provide leadership for
DaVita at the regional and national level.
Knapp, who has been legal counsel for the Clinic since 1997 and
its chief legal officer since 2012, will continue The Everett
Clinic's plans for growth and innovation as a high-performing
organization that does the right thing for patients and leads with
quality and patient safety. The Clinic's vision is to be the
essential, outpatient-focused healthcare system in the region. Its
growth continues on Sept. 26 with the
opening of a new Clinic in Shoreline, Everett Clinic's first
location in King County.
"Chris has the enthusiastic endorsement of The Everett Clinic's
Clinical Leadership Board," said Board President Dr. Shawn Slack. "We're fortunate to have this depth
and strength of capable leadership as we continue to provide
outstanding care to our patients, and seamless excellence in
quality and service during this transition."
