Prosoft Learning Corp. (Nasdaq: POSO), a technology learning solutions provider and owner of the award-winning CIW certification program, today announced that it is creating two new "CIW China" e-commerce certifications through its partnership with Beijing-based iTOM Learning, a company focused on bringing Information Technology (IT) certifications to the Chinese education industry. The Shandong Occupational Skill Testing Authority (OSTA) will organize the testing for the CIW China E-Commerce Technical Engineer and CIW China E-Commerce Application Engineer certifications. Candidates who pass the exams will be jointly endorsed by CIW and by Shandong OSTA. The e-commerce certifications will complement Prosoft's CIW China Web Designer certification, which has been enjoying success in China since its announcement in May 2004. According to the agreement, Prosoft will issue the certifications and iTOM will manage the project in Shandong province. Roman Tuo, chairman of iTOM, said, "We are very pleased with the performance of the CIW China program to date. Since the delivery of the first CIW China Web Designer exam in late 2004, we have issued over 6,000 CIW China Web Designer certificates in a few short months. We are delighted that Prosoft has once again chosen us as a partner to expand the CIW China program." Benjamin Fink, president and CEO of Prosoft, agrees. "When we set up our Beijing representative office, the goal was to identify partners for Prosoft that could help make CIW locally relevant within the People's Republic of China. iTOM is a perfect example of how the right partner can make a world of difference in a program's local success. They took a carefully structured approach for CIW China Web Designer, which has led to excellent early-stage results. Now, with the launch of the CIW China e-commerce certifications, they have helped us secure the endorsement of one of the most influential provincial governments in the country. I could not be more pleased about the infrastructure we are building in China." "Our goal in continuing our partnership with iTOM is clear -- we wish to make CIW the No. 1 certification within China," said Cindy Zheng, Prosoft's China regional manager. "We have the critical elements necessary to make CIW a success here -- a local presence, the right local partner, and the reputation of a certification that is consistently awarded 'Best Internet Certification.' Now, with a local government endorsement, we are even closer to meeting our goals." CIW China certifications are the China-only versions of the popular CIW certifications, but use localized exams that differ from those used outside China. Because of this difference, CIW China certifications are not included among the CIW certifications issued worldwide, which to date number more than 80,000. About Prosoft Learning Corp.
