SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Building Materials Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:BMHC) today announced that John Fa has been appointed Vice President - Real Estate for Building Materials Holding Corporation. In this newly created position, Mr. Fa will report to Bill Smart, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Fa will work directly with line operating management to plan and coordinate the Company's real estate activities associated with its expansion and the establishment of new facilities. This includes office and facility site location, permitting and construction management, land/building acquisitions and leasing. In addition, he will oversee and manage excess land and property sales. Mr. Fa, 35, has more than ten years of experience with international, national and regional construction service companies and real estate developers. Prior to joining BMHC, he was Associate Director for Development at the Presidio Trust in San Francisco for six years where he worked on projects ranging in size from 60,000 to 1.5 million square feet. Previously, Mr. Fa held senior positions at Hines, an international real estate developer, Charles Dunn Real Estate Services, Inc., a regional full-service real estate firm, and Turner Construction Company, a national construction services company. John has a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Robert E.
