Amgen Inc. (AMGN) said Chief Financial Officer David Meline will retire from that role at year-end and help with the transition process through the second quarter of 2020.

Peter H. Griffith, who is joining the biotechnology company from private-equity and advisory firm Sherwood Canyon Group LLC, will become CFO on Jan. 1. Mr. Griffith was a former partner at Ernst & Young.

Mr. Meline has been CFO since 2014. He was previously CFO of 3M Co. (MMM).
