PARIS--French auto parts maker Plastic Omnium (POM.FR) Thursday said it will invest $70 million to build two plants in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Fairfax, Kansas to supply parts to assembly plants owned by Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) and General Motors (GM).

The two factories, which will be commissioned in the second half of 2015, will generate revenue of $140 million a year, the company said, adding it already operates 14 plants in North America.

The investment is part of a 1.2 billion euro ($1.64 billion) investment plan announced by the company for the period 2013-2016.
