Terremark Worldwide, Inc., (AMEX:TWW) a leading operator of
integrated Internet exchanges and a global provider of managed IT
infrastructure solutions for government and private sectors, today
announced that VeriSign, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent
infrastructure for the networked world, has signed a multi-year
colocation and services contract to expand its Internet
infrastructure at Terremarks NAP of the Americas. Terremark's
flagship facility, the NAP of the Americas, provides highly secure
and reliable services including colocation, peering, managed
services and dedicated hosting services. VeriSign manages more than
61 million domains worldwide and helps enable billions of daily
interactions and protects against the more than 1.5 billion daily
security events worldwide. VeriSigns expansion at the NAP includes
increasing the capacity for its Top Level Domain (TLD) servers and
Certificate Revocation List system (CRL). In addition to deploying
infrastructure at the NAP, VeriSign has become one of the first
customers to select the NAPs 10 GigE Peering Fabric. Terremarks
10GigE peering services, the means by which Internet traffic, from
e-mail to video is interchanged between networks, can offer
enhanced capabilities such as increased capacity, fast and reliable
traffic exchange across the NAPs redundant peering fabric to its
more than 500 customers. Terremark has consistently provided us
with secure and reliable services, said Ken Silva, Chief Security
Officer of VeriSign. Expanding our footprint at the NAP was a
decision made easier with Terremarks global reach, 'always on'
environment and innovative facilities. As our intelligent
infrastructure services grow, we look forward to a continued
relationship. We are proud that VeriSign has made the choice to
expand their footprint at the NAP of the Americas, said Manuel D.
Medina, Chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc. VeriSign has
