Mobile Veterinary Checks Offer Support to Breeders for Ensuring Optimal Dog Health

PuppySpot.com, a trusted online marketplace connecting dog lovers with screened and verified breeders across the country, has announced its Fall series of free health clinics for its current breeder partners. The program, launched last year, centers around ensuring the health and well-being of adult breeding dogs through regular veterinary checks. PuppySpot is rooted in its mission of placing healthy puppies in happy homes, and the free health clinics support that mission.

PuppySpot thanks the American Kennel Club (AKC), the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs for their support and guidance in the planning and execution of the mobile health clinics being offered. The exams are conducted by PuppySpot’s consulting veterinarian, Dr. Brandon Sinn and include hip, elbow, cardiac, dental and patellar checks. Other services such as OFA certification will also be available. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with an AKC representative on-site to ask registration-related questions.

The first two clinics in the series will take place in October in Lebanon and Neosho, Missouri respectively.

“We are proud to offer valued resources such as these health screenings to our breeders,” said Jonathan Cherins, Chief Executive Officer of PuppySpot. “We at PuppySpot believe that good health is a crucial part of responsible breeding, and a puppy's good health begins with healthy parents.”

PuppySpot uses a proprietary data-driven system to evaluate tens of thousands of breeders across the nation, thoroughly screening them to create an exclusive network of breeders committed to the humane treatment of all dogs. Each breeder is held to the highest breeding standards and less than 10 percent of the breeders who begin the PuppySpot review process are ultimately invited to join PuppySpot.

PuppySpot’s extensive health protocols required of breeder partners include obtaining comprehensive evaluations for every puppy and keeping every puppy up-to-date on all vaccinations and de-wormings. Every puppy must pass a thorough health check before PuppySpot will clear a puppy for travel to its forever home. Finally, to activate PuppySpot’s industry-leading Health Guarantee, PuppySpot customers take their puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of receiving their puppy.
