PROVISIONAL LIQUIDATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders are referred to the announcement published earlier on SENS on 7and
17 June 2005 relating to the provisional liquidation of the company and
possible changes to the board of directors ("the board"). The Stilfontein
directors had previously offered to support the appointment of new directors
nominated by Anglo Ashanti. Anglo Ashanti has not responded to this offer,
therefore;

In terms of 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange
South Africa, shareholders are advised that all members the board of
Stilfontein being R A R Kebble, R B Kebble, G T Miller and H C Buitendag have
resigned from the board of directors of the company with immediate effect.
