Appointment of Non-Executive Director 
 
 
 
 
Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. (AIM:GLBM.L) ("Globe" or the "Company") is pleased 
to announce the appointment of Thomas A. Danjczek, aged 62, as a non-executive 
director to the Board effective March 16, 2009. 
 
 
Mr. Danjczek is President of the Steel Manufacturers Association that consists 
of 36 North American companies that operate 128 steel plants and employ 
approximately 48,000 people.  He was born September 8, 1947. 
 
 
After graduating Villanova University as a mechanical engineer, Mr. Danjczek 
went on to earn a Masters in Industrial Management at Purdue University. Mr. 
Danjczek then commenced an active career in the steel industry.  After thirteen 
years with Bethlehem Steel Corporation and Kaiser Steel Corporation, in 1983 he 
joined Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation as an executive. Since 1998 Mr. 
Danjczek has presided over the Steel Manufacturers Association.

importance as Globe continues to expand its business footprint."
