Volkswagen and VZBV Agree on Settlement for Diesel Customers

Volkswagen AG and consumer group VZBV agreed on a settlement at
the Braunschweig Higher Regional Court on Friday to compensate
those affected in the company's diesel scandal.
The agreement comes after talks broke down earlier in February
as the German car maker rejected "inadequate" demands made by the
association's lawyers. Volkswagen said the lawyers didn't provide
sufficient proof that would justify their fee.
The VZBV disagreed with the claims and instead identified
Volkswagen's "unwillingness" to "enable a transparent, trustworthy
and safe system for settlement."
A press conference will be held at 1200 GMT in Berlin to discuss
Friday's agreement.
