Volkswagen to Open Research Centre for Self-Driving Cars in Silicon Valley

Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) said Thursday that it will open a
research centre with a focus on self-driving cars in Belmont,
California.
The German car maker said the new research centre will be part
of its subsidiary Volkswagen Autonomy GmbH and it will hire 50 to
100 employees for the center this year.
Volkswagen didn't comment on the costs of the site but said it
is planning to open an additional research centre in China
soon.
