Waste Management, Inc. today announced the change of its ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) from WMI to WM effective at the start of trading on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. The new symbol better represents the company’s current logo.

The WM symbol reinforces how customers, communities and shareholders have come to think of us over the past years, and aligns our branding with our stock symbol.”
