Waste Management, Inc. today announced the change of its ticker
symbol on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) from WMI to WM
effective at the start of trading on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. The
new symbol better represents the company’s current logo.

Management’s leadership in providing environmental solutions,” said

recognizable WM represents our company and our people. The WM
