The company earns a perfect score on the Human
Rights Campaign’s 2019 Corporate Equality Index
AXA Equitable Life, a leading financial services company, has
been named one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by
the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America's largest civil rights
organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender
and queer equality. The honor marks the sixth consecutive year that
AXA Equitable Life has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the
organization’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI).
The HRC’s distinctive honor recognizes companies that advance
inclusive workplace practices for the LGBTQ community. Employers
who receive a score of a 100 have fully inclusive LGBTQ policies
and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections,
domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care
benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ
community. The CEI is a national benchmarking tool on corporate
policies which is used each year to rank businesses on their
commitment to promoting fairness in the workplace.
“Our diverse teams and inclusive work environment make us
stronger,” said Marine de Boucaud, Chief Human Resource Officer at
AXA Equitable Life. “And we are committed to making the company an
even better place for every person to develop skills and grow.”
AXA Equitable Life has offered health-care benefits to same-sex
couples for more than a decade and covers same-sex couples in its
parental leave policy. The company has a long-established employee
resource group that creates and sustains a presence in the LGBTQ
community, and promotes equality for all employees. In addition,
the company holds an annual educational forum for its financial
professionals to discuss new ways to support the unique financial
and retirement needs of its LGBTQ customers.
“A culture of inclusion strengthens our organization and also
helps us better support our diverse customer base,” said David
Karr, Chairman of AXA Advisors and Executive Sponsor of the
employee resource group. ”We are proud to be recognized by the
Human Rights Campaign.”
AXA Equitable Life is also included in HRC’s “Buying for
Workplace Equality Guide.”
