Ken Rekrutiak Joins Xten Corporate Advisory Board SANTA CLARA, CA, June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Xten Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: XNWK), a provider of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), Video over IP, Instant Messaging (IM), and Presence SIP softphones, today announced that Ken Rekrutiak has joined the Xten Corporate Advisory Board. Most recently Ken was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Westcoast Energy Inc. and a member of the company's Corporate Leadership Team. Ken led e-business strategy and initiatives to adapt the business to the opportunities and challenges created by technology. Ken was responsible for corporate governance and management of all major information technology endeavours. In 2002, Ken was selected as CIO of The Year, by the Canadian Information Processing Society of BC. During his 12 years at Westcoast, Ken served as a CEO and Director of several Westcoast subsidiaries and technology start up ventures. He also served as Chief Administrative Officer with responsibilities for corporate organization initiatives including the creation of a corporate centre, integration of acquired companies and acting as secretary to the Human Resources and Compensation Committee of the corporate board. After graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Ken spent 18 years with IBM becoming manager for the BC operation in 1979. In 1980, he attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. From 1983 to 1990 he worked as an officer and director in the high technology industry focused on international marketing and business development.
