Glowpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: GLOWE), the world's leading
broadcast-quality IP-based video communications service provider,
today announced that it is presenting its Instant Video Everywhere
(IVE) service at the Broadband Cities 2005 event in West Valley
City, Utah, from September 19-21, 2005. The conference brings
together hundreds of civic leaders, city managers, and broadband
decision makers from the U.S. and around the world to experience
best practices and innovations in community broadband deployment.
The event taps into the vast capacity of the biggest community
broadband project in the country, Utah's Telecommunications Open
Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA) network, which is delivering
broadband for breakthrough, cost-effective Internet, phone and
television services to homes and businesses in 14 Utah cities and
communities. Broadband Cities 2005 features a simulated Broadband
City complete with a mega broadband network where GlowPoint is
showcasing its IVE (pronounced ivy) service as the personal video
communications solution of the future. The IVE suite of services,
powered by GlowPoint, enables users to conduct "face-to-face" video
conversations with colleagues, friends and family as easily as
using a telephone. IVE has been developed to move video beyond the
standard conference room environment by extending across multiple
uses including the desktop and mobile video communications for
telecommuters, home office workers, business travelers and
consumers. IVE incorporates GlowPoint's patent pending applications
and advanced features including '000' Live Video Operators, Video
Call Mailboxes, 'Lisa" the GlowPoint Video Call Assistant, Video
Meeting Rooms, Direct Dial Video Numbers and GlowPoint Global
international calling plans. "Broadband Cities 2005 has created a
real life environment that illustrates how the proliferation of
broadband access to local communities is contributing to the
growing adoption of video communications both at the office and in
the home," said Stuart Gold, vice president of marketing at
GlowPoint. "We are proud to present IVE as an example of the kind
of advanced, feature-rich video applications available today that
can be deployed to local businesses and individuals who have access
to broadband connectivity." Broadband Cities 2005 represents a
confluence of Smart Communities across the Europe, Asia, North
America, and the Middle East that are showcasing the value and
applications of true broadband to the home, business, and
institutions. Broadband Cities provides a unique venue to showcase
how broadband can be fully exploited to generate improvements in
the way we work, live, play and learn. Participants will see what
is being made available to the rest of the word relative to their
community, including services that their citizens may be missing
out on, economic development opportunities that may be passing them
by, as well as what is happening in Asia, Scandinavia, and the
Middle East. About GlowPoint Glowpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: GLOWE) is the
