Airbus CEO Doesn't Commit to Zero Compulsory Layoffs -La Tribune

--Airbus's Chief Executive Guillaume Faury refuses to commit to
zero forced layoffs as it is impossible to know if enough employees
will decide to voluntarily leave the company, he said during an
interview with French weekly La Tribune.
--The European aerospace giant announced in late June its plan
to cut 15,000 jobs, or roughly 11% of its workforce, in a bid to
weather the coronavirus crisis and what should be its yearslong
impact on the industry.
--However, in July, French junior economy minister Agnes
Pannier-Runacher asked Airbus to avoid any compulsory layoffs as
part of its restructuring plan, noting that this is a target and
not a requirement from the government.
