INDIANAPOLIS, July 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Brothers Shep
and Ian Murray, CEOs and co-founders
of vineyard vines, have just announced a partnership with NASCAR
Germain Racing and driver Casey
Mears, for five upcoming races in 2016. vineyard vines is
one of the first lifestyle clothing brands to be associated with a
NASCAR team, and their whale logo will be prominently displayed on
the No. 13 Germain Racing car and the driver's fire suit. Kicking
off with the "Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard" which
took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 24, vineyard vines will be
partnering with Germain Racing on four other races throughout the
season.
"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Casey Mears and Germain Racing, as they share in
our passion of Every day should feel this good," said
Shep Murray, vineyard vines CEO
& co-founder. "NASCAR is known for its passionate fan base and
its exciting once-in-a-lifetime racing experiences. We can't wait
to watch our pink whale circle that track on the No. 13 car during
the race."
"Mears is not only a recognizable name in auto-racing, but is a
true family man. Casey is the third generation of successful
drivers in his family and coming from a family-run business myself,
we were excited to partner with someone who has a similar
background," said Ian Murray,
vineyard vines CEO & co-founder.
Casey Mears said "On the vineyard
vines website, there's a quote from Shep
and Ian Murray...'People always say that if you do what you
love, you'll be successful. There's no doubt that we're doing what
we love and loving what we do: we're having fun, working hard and
meeting great people.' That quote is so true and is exactly how I
feel about racing. It's good to see the American dream come true
for them and to see the brand continue to grow. I'm glad to
have vineyard vines join our GEICO Chevrolet SS team."
Germain Racing's No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet SS has been Mears' home
in the Sprint Cup Series since 2010. Together Mears and Germain
Racing have become known for tough competition on the Superspeedway
circuits as well as road course tracks and unique venues like
Martinsville Speedway and Pocono Raceway. Team owner and founder
Bob Germain Jr. is thrilled to
promote the lifestyle brand vineyard vines as it joins names like
Caymus Vineyards and Dometic in the growing list of team
sponsors.
"The story of the Murray brothers is great. Two guys quit their
jobs to sell neckties. It's exciting to promote vineyard vines in
what, I believe, is still just the beginning of the growth of their
brand. We are thrilled to bring the vineyard vines style into the
NASCAR garage," said Germain.
vineyard vines will be opening a new retail store in
Indianapolis this month and next
up in the series of NASCAR races will be in Richmond, VA this September followed by
