SINGAPORE, Sept. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Y&R took
home top accolades at the 2016 Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity,
winning two Grand Prix awards for its much-lauded Burger King
"McWhopper" campaign. In all, Y&R swept the awards winning a
total of 11 Gold, 11 Silver, 17 Bronze metals. The network's
outstanding performance earned an overall second place network
ranking at the festival.
Continuing its winning streak this year, Y&R New Zealand
took home two Grand Prix in Direct and Print & Publishing
categories for Burger King's "McWhopper." The campaign, which began
with a print ad in The New York
Times and The Chicago Tribune,
proposed to unite competing brands McDonalds and Burger King on
Peace Day by launching a limited "McWhopper" product. It quickly
caught viral global attention, reaching nearly 8.9 billion media
impressions and $138 million in
earned media, as well as widespread consumer participation across
YouTube and other social channels. The campaign went on to be the
most awarded work this year, winning a total of 15 metals including
seven Gold, four Silver and two Bronze.

for its Samaritans work. Additional highlights included Gold in
Outdoor for Monday Bangkok and its work with Dutch Mill Co., as
well as Silver and two Bronze awards awarded to Rediffusion's
"Dipper Condoms" campaign with Tata Motors.
