-- Amanda L. Carney, an
associate in Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Litigation and Labor &
Employment Practices in the Boston
office, has been selected to the Boston Bar Association's (BBA)
2021 Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP) Class.
The PILP is a 10-month long program providing participants
leadership and professional development training across key areas
including effective organizational leadership, diversity, equity
and inclusion, pro bono engagement, and board service. Participants
were selected for their demonstrated commitment to public service,
leadership and the Boston legal
community. The PILP 2021 class members are within their first ten
years of practice.
Carney represents clients in a broad range of commercial
litigation and labor and employment matters, and provides clients
with day-to-day counselling related to their workforce. In
addition, Carney is passionate about providing legal services to
low-income individuals in the Greater
Boston area. She has spent hundreds of hours providing pro
bono legal services through her involvement with Kids in Need of
Defense (KIND), advocating for children in immigration proceedings.
She also serves as the firm's Boston office fundraising co-captain for the
Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Associates Fund Drive, and has
helped raise thousands of dollars to support GBLS's work on behalf
of domestic violence survivors.
