SILCON VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 4,
2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- eGirl Power is hosting the
"PIFA Awards Masquerade Virtual Gala" in February 2021 to honor Rahul Kashyap, CEO of Awake Security and launch
their 501c3 nonprofit organization's newest programs that align and
work towards advancing the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development. These programs include: Leadership &
Mentorship, Cybersecurity & STEM, and Mi9 Agenda 2030, The Rise
of Ms. Direction. All of eGirl Power's program goals aim to ensure
inclusive and equitable quality education opportunities for all,
and to achieve gender equality and empowerment of all women and
girls.
Mr. Rahul Kashyap, who recently
joined Awake Security a few years ago, led his amazing Silicon
Valley start-up company to a recent acquisition with Arista
Networks. During this same time, Mr. Kashyap and his Silicon Valley
start-up company, Awake Security, become a Program Partner with
eGirl Power to support eGirl Power's mission to educate and support
young girls through leadership skills development and career
exploration with a focus on cybersecurity and STEM.
For those in the cybersecurity field, the critical shortage of
skilled workers and underrepresentation of females in the industry
raises serious concerns. "We have a long road ahead to fully bridge
the industry's gender gap," said Mr. Kashyap. "In partnering with
eGirl Power, the Awake Security team is working to teach young
girls about the different jobs available and help students navigate
the next steps in their journeys towards cybersecurity
careers."
Educating girls at an early age about career possibilities in
cybersecurity and STEM is critical because this is when young girls
start to form lasting opinions about potential future careers.
Recent surveys show that women represent just 11 to 24 percent of
the cybersecurity workforce, and the number of females in senior
leadership positions is even more dismal, at just one percent.
"Investing in girls is key to narrowing the gender gap in
cybersecurity, and helping to fill the critical talent shortage in
the industry," states Amy Mintz,
Founder of eGirl Power. "We're pleased to have the support of Mr.
Rahul Kashyap and Awake Security to
help drive our mission."
As part of eGirl Power's newest program launch, the 501c3
nonprofit organization is offering opportunities to young girls to
earn "Covid-19 Relief Grants & Scholarships" through their
"Learn, Earn & Return" distance learning platform for those who
have experienced financial difficulties either directly or
indirectly from the global pandemic.
Join eGirl Power in honoring Rahul
Kashyap at the PIFA Awards Masquerade Virtual Gala 2021 when
he will be receiving the PIFA Visionary Award for his dedication
and commitment to addressing the future needs of the cybersecurity
industry and making a difference with young girls who wish to
pursue the cybersecurity and STEM field.
