AGM STATEMENT
At today's AGM the Chairman Mark Jones will make the following statement on
trading 'I am pleased to announce that we have had a solid start to the year
with trading in line with the Board's expectations. After 21 weeks of trading
total group sales are 93% higher than a year ago, underpinned by a strong
performance from our recent acquisitions and from food sales.
Christmas trading is obviously an important time for the group and I am
encouraged that Christmas bookings are running in excess of last year in 'Living
Room', 'Bel and the Dragon' and the core Ultimate Leisure estate.
We have made good progress in building a pipeline of sites for our 'Living Room'
brand with one site agreed and two others with agreed heads of terms. We have
also opened a new 'Prohibition Bar and Grill' in St Katharines Dock in the City
of London and, whilst it is still early, we have been encouraged by trading.
Of the five sites we have previously identified as non core, we have completed
the disposal of two nightclubs and have acceptable offers on three others and
expect to complete their disposals in the near future.'
As announced at our Preliminary results on 19th September 2007, we will today be
voting on our formal name change to 'Premium Bars and Restaurants plc' to better
reflect the new focus of the group.
