Switch & Data Facilities Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: SDXC) today announced that it will not release financial results for the first quarter of 2010 due to its pending merger with Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX). Switch and Data had previously announced that the financial results would be made public after the market close on Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

On April 23, 2010, Equinix received notification from the United States Department of Justice (the “DOJ”) that the DOJ has closed its investigation with respect to the proposed acquisition of Switch and Data by Equinix (the “Merger”) and also received notification from the Federal Trade Commission that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 has been terminated. Equinix and Switch and Data expect the Merger to close on April 30, 2010, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the other closing conditions set forth in the merger agreement.
