ACE*COMM Signs New South American Wireless Customer for Its NV2 Advanced Mediation; Lightning-Fast Implementation of Mediation

ACE*COMM Corporation (NASDAQ:ACEC), a global provider of advanced
OSS, value-added services, and network business intelligence
solutions, has completed a deployment of its N*VISION(R)2 (NV2)
Advanced Mediation solution for a new South America-based wireless
customer in a record seven days. ACE*COMM recently launched NV2, a
hyperconvergent, multi-directional mediation platform designed to
bridge the divide between existing telecommunications
infrastructure and in-demand next-generation services. "Our new
customer needed a mediation solution that would meet their current
demands, and also had the ability to expand and eventually replace
their existing legacy platform," said John Bennett, President of
ACE*COMM. "There was only one snag - the new wireless services had
to 'go live' in just nine days. A primary requirement of the
mediation system was that it be highly - and easily - user
configurable, supporting a do-it-yourself implementation model with
continuing support and enhancements from the mediation vendor."
"Our solution met all of the customer's system requirements,"
continued Mr. Bennett. "Once engaged, our integration team set to
work configuring, installing, testing, and releasing the NV2
Advanced Mediation solution in just seven days, including
requirements gathering and documentation. We believe this to be a
landmark achievement." Starting in 2005, the wireless customer had
embarked on an ambitious expansion and system upgrade plan to
transition from the PSTN to a series of advanced next-generation
softswitches for fixed, wireless, voice, and data services. This
created a requirement for a mediation system to process call
records for its new wireless services that would filter, aggregate,
correlate, and transform various types of call records so they
could be understood by the billing center OSS. After attempts to
enhance their existing billing mediation system failed, the
customer went in search of a vendor that could provide them with a
highly configurable solution. The wireless provider also mandated
that the application be scalable, with the ability to process
millions of transactions each hour while still fitting within their
existing IT infrastructure. The NV2 solution met all the
established requirements, including the following functions: -0- *T
1. Correlation of mobile-to-mobile calls 2. Correlation of
mobile-to-land line calls 3. Correlation of land line-to-mobile
calls 4. Correlation of call-forwarding calls 5. Correlation of
long-duration calls 6. Filtering of records 7. Reformatting of data
8. Creating output fields from the aggregate value of multiple
input fields *T Upon release, the system was processing up to 11
million records per day, with volumes expected to hit 40 million.
NV2 was deployed on the customer's existing infrastructure, with no
need to purchase additional hardware. For more information on NV2
