veteran Joe Ybarra has joined the
company as Vice-President of Product Development. Mr. Ybarra will
be in charge of all software development and content for Kuboo,
Safecom's virtual world.
Joe Ybarra has held senior
positions with numerous videogame industry market leaders,
including Apple, Electronic Arts, Mediagenic/Activision, 3DO,
Ensemble Studios, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive and Cheyenne
Mountain Entertainment.
While at Electronic Arts, Joe pioneered software development
processes in place to this day across the entire game industry, and
produced several highly acclaimed and popular games, such as
M.U.L.E., Julius Erving and
Larry Bird Go One on One, The Bard's
Tale, Starflight and John Madden Football (which is still one of
EA's most profitable franchises).
Joe Ybarra has won multiple
industry accolades, such as the Computer Gaming World Hall of Fame
and Billboard Magazine Software Best-Seller, and Online Game of the
Year awards. All told, he has produced over fifty computer and
videogame titles, including Seven Cities of Gold, Wasteland, Bard's
Tale 1, 2, and 3, Legacy of the Ancients, Heart of Africa, Arctic Fox, Archon, Alien Legacy and
Meridian 59. In addition, Joe served as executive director of
development and/or publishing operations for several noted
Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) titles--Shadow of Yserbius,
Shadowbane, The Matrix Online and Stargate Worlds.
