COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Medicare
beneficiaries who want help as they navigate through the
complexities of Medicare enrollment are encouraged to attend the
"Medicare Shop & Compare" event, 4 to 8
p.m., October 24, 2017, at the
Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Road, Westerville. The event is a great opportunity
to learn more about Medicare Advantage plan options as well as
other options for Medicare coverage in 2018.
The event will include light refreshments, a strolling magician
and an opportunity to meet the "Columbus 60 Strong Ambassadors," a group of
inspirational 60 somethings selected to be featured in an exclusive
2018 calendar highlighting Columbus landmarks, entertainment and
activities around Central Ohio. The calendar also includes
health tips and important Medicare enrollment dates. The 60 Strong
Ambassadors are inspirational people in their 60s who practice
healthy lifestyles and give back to the community in a variety of
ways.
Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is hosting the event and will
have representatives available to answer questions about the new
COPC Senior Care Advantage program, which is available to patients
covered by Medicare Advantage plans offered by Aetna, Anthem,
Humana and MediGold. COPC Senior Care Advantage program
expands the cooperation and coordination between the physician
group and these insurance companies. It is not a new Medicare
Advantage plan. Rather it is a new approach to care delivery.
Under this program, patients have the flexibility to choose a
health plan from one of the four participating insurance companies
and still have access to the same innovative care program COPC has
designed. COPC Senior Care Advantage provides access to wellness
and health education services and care coordination resources when
needed.
Attendees also will have an opportunity to talk with independent
licensed agents from Seniority Benefit Group and representatives
from Aetna, Anthem, Humana and MediGold. There is no cost to
attend. To RSVP or ask questions about the event:
MedicareInfo@COPCAdvantage.com.
Between October 15 and December 7,
Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to explore and choose
their 2018 Medicare coverage. The choices include traditional
Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan. The Medicare Advantage
plans, which generally provide additional benefits such as
prescription drug coverage, are offered by health insurance
companies that contract with Medicare.
