L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced today that retired U.S.
Air Force (USAF) Lt. Gen. Charles R. “C.R.” Davis has been
appointed Senior Vice President of Strategy at the company’s
Aerospace Systems business segment, effective immediately.
In this newly created position, Lt. Gen. Davis will report to
L-3 Aerospace Systems President Mark Von Schwarz. He joins L-3 with
more than 30 years of aerospace and defense experience, having most
recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at
Seabury Global Aerospace & Defense Consulting.

will provide strategic guidance to our Aerospace Systems business
segment,” said Michael T. Strianese, L-3’s Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. “He will work closely with Mark and the
Aerospace Systems management team to optimize our performance and
pursue growth in this core business area by ensuring that our
market-leading offerings in ISR, service-life extension and
multi-mission aircraft remain aligned with customer
priorities.”
Lt. Gen. Davis’ Air Force career included serving as military
deputy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force
for Acquisition, where he was responsible for research and
development, test, production and modernization of USAF programs
valued at more than $40 billion annually. He also led the USAF
Acquisition organization for more than a year.
In addition, Lt. Gen. Davis served as Commander of the
Electronic Systems Center and Program Executive Officer (PEO) for
Command, Control and Communications Infrastructure and Networks at
Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), as well as Commander of the Air
Armament Center and PEO for Weapons at Eglin AFB.
Lt. Gen. Davis is a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and holds
master’s degrees from California State University, Fresno, and the
National Defense University (formerly known as the Industrial
College of the Armed Forces). He is a test pilot with more than
3,400 flying hours in 53 types of aircraft.
