Now accepting applications for the fifth annual
market-driven showcase connecting clean technology to oil and gas,
with a $5,000 prize
The Colorado Cleantech Industries Association (CCIA) is now
accepting applications for their popular Oil & Gas Cleantech
Challenge (OGCC), the program that matches applicable cleantech
business solutions directly with partners in the industry. Now in
its fifth year, this product showcase is an established event
connecting innovative technologies directly to oil and gas
companies.
The fifth annual event will take place in Denver at the Colorado
Governor's Residence on September 6, 2018. The program is accepting
applications from any state or country; there are no geographic
restrictions, however companies are required to attend if chosen to
present. Companies selected for participation in the program have
the opportunity to present directly to program sponsors and the
winning company receives a $5,000 prize.
The OGCC has recently been joined in CCIA’s annual event
calendar by the successful Mining Cleantech Challenge, the second
of which occurred in March of 2018. Both events have been growing,
with submissions increasing each season.
“We are excited to continue these now firmly established events,
which differ from other pitch-style programs which are common in
Denver and the surrounding area,” says Mary Austin, director of the
OGCC and partnerships at CCIA. “Instead of curating a group of
businesses to highlight for a general and random audience, the OGCC
industry partners are actively involved from start to finish. They
identify the target technologies, participate in the review
process, vote on which companies to bring in to pitch, and finally,
they judge the presentation.”
“This event is more of a matchmaking for innovative technologies
to gain meaningful access to industry decision makers,” adds
Austin.
CCIA partners for this program include ConocoPhillips, BP and
Noble Energy. Additional sponsors are the Canadian Consulate in
Colorado, Altira, Wells Fargo, Rocky Mountain Institute, the
Colorado Energy Office and Perkins Coie.
The application process is now open for cleantech companies to
showcase their innovative products and technologies. Areas of
interest include, but are not limited to:
Air especially methane detection or controlUnmanned aerial
vehiclesThe internet of things / digital oilfieldItems to reduce
truck trafficSpace saving items to reduce footprintPlant or
biological solutionsBlockchainsWaterRemote / distributed powerPower
ManagementAdvanced materials and chemicals
Interested cleantech companies will enter a competitive vetting
process, after which 10-12 companies will be invited to present
their technologies to the partners. Applications are due July 31,
2018. More information can be found here:
