Shalibane announces that it is currently in advanced negotiations to sell its
Marshall's business in Halifax and of its non-automotive business in Plymouth
to separate parties.  The disposal of these businesses is a continuation of
the reorganisation process and addresses the major operational loss areas
within the Group.  All core automotive component production has been
transferred to the Company's remaining sites in Coventry and Camberley
consistent with the Company's strategy of consolidation and right sizing.



Trading at both Marshall's and Plymouth has continued to be below management
expectations and this together with the costs on disposal of the business will
increase the anticipated losses for the year ended 31 December 2000.
