BOSTON, May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At a joint special meeting held today, shareholders of Eaton Vance National Municipal Income Trust (the "Acquired Fund") (NYSE Alternext US: FEV) voted to approve an Agreement and Plan of Reorganization (the "Agreement") between the Acquired Fund and Eaton Vance Municipal Income Trust (NYSE:EVN) (the "Acquiring Fund"), the termination of the Acquired Fund's registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended, and the dissolution of the Acquired Fund under applicable state law; and shareholders of the Acquiring Fund voted to approve the issuance of additional common shares in connection with the reorganization. In the reorganization, the common and auction preferred shares of the Acquired Fund will be exchanged for common and auction preferred shares, respectively, of the Acquiring Fund.
