Lowrance Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEIX) announced today that its
initial entry into the Automotive GPS market, the award winning
iWay 500C, recently received "Editor's Choice" awards from PC
Magazine in May 2005 and Laptop Magazine in June 2005. The
Company's new portable AirMap 2000C aviation GPS product also
recently won the "Best Product Of The Year" award at the Oshkosh
Air Show in July 2005. Recognition for Lowrance's new marine SONAR
and combination SONAR/GPS products include the New Product "Best in
Category" award for the LCX-111C, a hard disk SONAR/GPS model with
a built-in 20 gigabyte hard drive, at the July 2005 American Sport
Fishing Association's ICAST (International Convention of Allied
Sportfishing Trades) tradeshow. "Our automotive GPS products have
achieved significant sales growth and market share gains since
their introduction last fall. These units were designed with
significantly more high value features than competitive products,
leading to their recognition by these major electronics
publications and organizations, including the iWay 500C's November
2004 award as the Best New Mobile Electronics Entertainment Product
for 2005 at SEMA, the premier automotive specialty products trade
event in the world," said Darrell Lowrance, President. Lowrance's
aviation GPS products also continue to make inroads, and the new
Airmap(R) 2000C, with a bright, sunlight viewable color display,
recently won the "Best New Product of the Year" at the world-famous
Oshkosh Air Show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. "We are excited to win
these top awards in what we believe to be the most important shows
for each of our product markets. In the past twelve months, we have
introduced over 50 new, leading-edge SONAR, GPS/SONAR combination
and GPS products. The success of these new products is clearly
reflected in the Company's recent record results for the fiscal
year ended July 31, 2005 and our August 2005 sales growth of 37%
compared to the same month last year," said Lowrance. About
