Lucent to integrate ACE*COMM's Parent Patrol(TM) with Lucent real-time rating and charging system, enabling parents to set spending, calling and text messaging limits for children MURRAY HILL, N.J., June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) today announced that it has signed an agreement with ACE*COMM Corporation (NASDAQ:ACEC) to integrate ACE*COMM technology into Lucent's mobile services offering, enabling global wireless carriers to now offer their customers unprecedented parental control of their mobile services. The integrated solution enables parents to control when kids can use their mobile phones, who they can call and how much money they can spend on fee- based voice, text or multimedia services. Offering a web-style screen, the application provides parents with the ability to establish parameters based on total usage, time of day, type of use and calling and called party. The solution consists of Lucent's SurePay(R) real-time rating and charging solution, which uses the dynamic rules-based management capabilities of Lucent Vortex(TM) policy management, and ACE*COMM's patent-pending Parent Patrol(TM) software, which provides configurable child-profile management that interoperates with the SurePay solution's policy management function.
