Rio Tinto PLC (RIO) said Friday it has extended the deadline for its takeover offer for Riversdale Mining Ltd. (RIV.AU) a further week and proposes to delist the Africa-focused coal producer.

Rio Tinto has a more than 73% stake in Riversdale.
