invested more than $3 billion in its
best-in-class wireless and wired networks in Illinois between
2012 through 2014, driving a wide range of upgrades to reliability,
coverage, speed and performance for residents and business
customers.
As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), an investment plan
focused on network enhancement and expansion, AT&T in 2014 made
more than 450 wireless network upgrades in Illinois, including 98 new cell sites and
over 300 new wireless high-speed Internet connections.

enhancements in 2014:
- Launched AT&T Business Fiber Internet Service in
Chicago, bringing speeds of up
to
1 Gigabit per second to multi-tenant office buildings in the
Chicago area.
- Brought AT&T's 4G LTE network to several Illinois cities, including Springfield.
- Launched a new outdoor distributed antenna system to boost
network speed and capacity along Chicago's 12 Metra Lines
