End of Offer Period

On 24 July 2014 the board of directors of Maple Energy plc ("Maple" or the "Company") announced that it had received an approach which may or may not lead to a cash offer to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company. The announcement noted that the approach was highly conditional and preliminary in nature.

The board of directors announces that discussions relating to the possible cash offer to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company by the parties who made the approach have been terminated. Accordingly the board of directors can confirm that the Company is not in discussions with any party regarding a possible offer for the issued share capital of the Company.

As previously reported, the Company has been actively seeking equity investment from strategic investors in order to secure the sustainability of its ethanol business. The Company has been progressing in this and other initiatives and is seeking to close a transaction in this regard. There can be no guarantees that a transaction with a strategic or financial investor can be reached on terms acceptable to the Company, or at all.
