                      DECLARATION OF TERMINATION DIVIDEND 
 
Under the terms of the recommended Scheme published on 23 December 2008, the 
Board of Gartmore Smaller Companies Trust plc has declared a termination 
dividend of 7.8 pence per ordinary share in respect of the period from 1 
September 2008 payable on 29 January 2009 to shareholders on the register at 
close of business on 23 January 2009. The ex-dividend date is 21 January 2009.
