As summer winds down, it's time for back to school shopping. But according to Capital One's seventh annual Back To School Shopping Survey, parents stepping out to shop with their kids may overlook a golden opportunity to talk dollars and cents. The survey shows an increasing number of teens-52 percent-want to learn about money management. In fact, 35 percent of all teens prefer to learn about money from their parents - yet only 20% of parents have talked to their kids about money and budgeting. Experts say it's time parents started teaching the money skills their teenagers are eager to learn. Capital One has partnered with the National Consumer Organization Consumer Action to create a complete guide for parents called Talking To Teens About Money, available at http://www.money-wise.org/ SATELLITE FEEDS: Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 1:30 PM - 1:45 PM ET 1:30 PM - 1:45 PM ET Galaxy 26 Galaxy 26 C-Band C-Band Transponder 11 Transponder 11 Downlink Freq. 3920 Vertical Downlink Freq. 3920 Vertical Preview and access this video on Pathfire DMG: Slug # 29079 Search within the PR Newswire or MultiVu section by story ID # 29079 or by headline For technical assistance call Pathfire Customer Care at 1-888-345-0489 or e-mail NEWS: Back To School Shopping Is An Excellent Time To Talk Money With Kids FORMAT: News Package With Extra Soundbites and B-roll.
