Sharyland Utilities, LLC, a Texas-based electric transmission utility, on Thursday said it closed a transaction with Sempra Energy (SRE), under which Sempra now indirectly holds a 50% stake in Sharyland.

Sharyland also said Stacey Dore has assumed the roles of president and chief executive.

Sharyland will continue as an independent transmission utility, with 50% owned by entities controlled by Hunter L. Hunt and other members of the family of Ray L. Hunt.

Stacey Dore was previously senior vice president and general counsel of InfraREIT, Inc. (HIFR), and Hunt Utility Services, LLC, which was the external manager of InfraREIT.

Sharyland said its deal with Sempra Energy is part of a broader set of transactions, first announced in October 2018, which included the sale of InfraREIT to Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC. Oncor Delivery is majority-owned by Sempra Energy, Sharyland said.
