BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Constellation (Nasdaq: CEG) today announced it has received regulatory approval from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) for its previously announced acquisition of Calpine Corporation.

The approval is progress in Constellation’s plans to combine the nation’s largest zero-emissions nuclear fleet with Calpine’s premier portfolio of low-emission natural gas and geothermal assets, resulting in a coast-to-coast energy company capable of supporting growing demand for around-the-clock, sustainable power.

What a dumb reason to downgrade a stock!
Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ: CEG) fell 3% on Wednesday after analysts estimated it won’t receive a high premium for its electricity from its deal with Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META).
The said rate is “not a big enough premium for low carbon power” and is comparable to prices offered by new natural gas plants, he argued in a research note today.

Was fortunate enough to grab some at $299 on an impulse buy, when I heard the CEO speak from the oval office 2 weeks ago.
Now they just announced a 20 year deal with Google.
X. Typically the energy stocks are pretty steady and pay dividends along the way, honestly I didn't look here.
