American Electric Power Co. Inc. (NYSE:AEP)-American Electric Power Co. Inc. is an electric utilities company with nearly 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity,40000 mile electricity transmission network, serving in 11 states of United States. For 2012 financial year, the company had reported operating earnings of $238 million. The company’s performance had suffered due to sluggish demand growth and majorly due to customer switching in Ohio where the company is in the process of separating its generating assets from its distribution and transmission operations.

For 2013, the company is expected to achieve earning of $3.05-$3.25 per share. The company plans to achieve this by increasing it transmission investment which it considers the core for improving the bottom line.

AEP shares are presently trading at $47 with EPS of 2.60 and P/E of 18.29. The forward annual dividend yield of the company is 4.00% whereas the 5 year average dividend yield is 4.70%.Last year the company paid a dividend of $1.88 per share and this year also the company has declared a dividend of $0.47.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) -The company designs, manufactures, and sells integrated digital technology the company offers microprocessors and chipsets, the company also provides mobile phone components.

For 2012, the company reported revenues of $53.3 billion, with EPS of $2.13. For the year 2013, the company doesn’t expect a much higher growth. Revenues are expected increase in low single digit. The company has a profit margin of 20.63%

The stock is currently trading around $21.50 with P/E ratio of 10.13 and EPS of $2.13. In last 52 weeks the stock has traded in the range of $19.23-$29.27.The company’s 5 years average dividend yield is 3.50% and forward annual dividend yield of 4.20%, whereas the current yield is of 4.11%

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) – AT&T Inc. provides telecommunications services to consumers, businesses, and other providers in the United States and internationally. The company operates in three segments: Wireless, Wire line, and other.

The company has recently entered into an agreement with Atlantic Tele – Network, Inc. (ATNI) to acquire ATNI’s U.S retail wireless operations for $780 million cash. The acquisition is complimentary to AT&T’s existing network. For 2012, the company announced consolidated revenues of $32.6 billion.

The Company last year repurchased 371 million shares for $12.8 billion. Looking forward the company expects higher growth in the year 2013 with plans   to expand what the company has identified as high growth platforms – mobile data, U-verse and strategic business services to million more customers and deployment of 4G LTE network.

AT&T shares are currently trading around $36 with EPS of 1.22 and P/E ratio of 30.16. The 5 year average dividend yield for the company is 5.60% and forward annual dividend yield of 4.91%. The company’s payout ratio is 141.00%. In last 52 weeks the company has traded in the range of $29.95- $38.58.

Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK) – Merck & Co. Inc. provides various health solutions through its prescription medicines, vaccines, biologic therapies, animal health, and consumer care products worldwide. It offers human health pharmaceutical products, such as therapeutic and preventive agents for the treatment of human disorders in the areas of cardiovascular, diabetes and obesity, respiratory, women’s health and endocrine, inflammatory and infectious diseases, oncology, ophthalmology, and others.

Recently Merck has entered into an agreement with Samsung Bioepis to develop and commercialise multiple pre-specified and undisclosed bio similar candidates. This agreement was undertaken to complement Merck’s Internal Biologics portfolio.

Looking ahead, the company plans to focus on cures for Alzhimer’s and Global Insomnia Market. For 2012 the company had reported revenues of $47.27 billion, earnings before Interest Tax and depreciation and amortisation at $17.43 billion and diluted earnings per share of $2.00

MRK shares are presently trading around $43 with P/E of 19.85 and EPS of 2.17.  The company trades at Beta of 0.57. Its indicated annual dividend is 1.72.foraward annual dividend yield of 4.00% and trailing 5 year average dividend yield of 4.40%

Verizon Communication Inc. (NYSE:VZ)- Verizon Communications Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides communications, information and entertainment products and services to consumers, businesses, and governmental agencies worldwide. Its Verizon Wireless segment offers access to various wireless voice and data services comprising Internet access through smart phones and basic phones, and notebook computers and tablets; messaging services, which enable customers to send and receive text, picture, and video messages; and consumer-focused and business-focused multimedia applications.

For reported results of 2012, the company announced revenues of $115.8 billion operating margin of 12.04% and diluted EPS of 0.31.

Company’s wireless segment recently announced a number of spectrum transactions including license sales purchase and lease agreement as a result of Verizon Wireless’ spectrum sale process announced last spring for its lower 700 MHz spectrum licenses.

The stock is currently is trading $48 with P/E of 155.4 and EPS of 0.31.The company trades at a Beta of 0.46 Its Annual Indicated Dividend Rate of $2.06  and Forward Annual Dividend Yield of 4.30%. Its 5 Year Average Dividend Yield of 5.50%. The company has a payout ratio of 650%
