Earnings Winners and Losers: LOGI, LCC, NE, LUV, MMM

Logitech International SA (NASDAQ:LOGI): The stock is down after the announcement of weak third quarter results.  Logitech International announced its revenue for the quarter at $614.5 million, lagging behind the consensus estimate of $667.9 million in sales.

Logitech International also reported loss of $195 million. The company made one time charge of $211 million for writing off goodwill. Excluding one-time expense, the company’s net income for the quarter stood at 10 cents per share, again below the street expectation of 31 cents per share in profit. The company stock is currently trading at $6.95, down 8.67 percent from its previous close of $7.61. The stock had opened at $6.94 and has traded in the range of $6.82 and $7.01 in the current trading session. It has traded 1.102 million shares as of now. Logitech commands market capitalization of $1.09 billion and its Price Earnings ratio is 13.29. Logitech International also reported 11 percent sales decline in Asia Pacific and 8 percent decline in Americas.

US Airways Group Inc. (NYSE:LCC): The aviation company reported healthy numbers for its fourth quarter and its stock is trading 1.89 percent lower, at $14.78. US Airways Group reported 3.9 percent increase in its revenue for the quarter at $3.28 billion. For the full financial year, the company’s net income stood at $637 million, up from $71 million it had earned in the previous year. The company has traded 2.093 million shares in the current trading sessions so far and its stock has traded in the range of $6.78 and $15.64 in the past 52 weeks. The company stock’s beta is 0.33, while its P/E ratio stands at 4.47. US Airways Group reported 6 percent increase in its full year revenue to $13.83 billion.

Noble Corp. (NYSE:NE): The drilling company’s profit for the fourth quarter remained flat. Noble reported 29 percent increase in its revenue to $966 million, surpassing consensus estimates of $957.6 million in revenue. The company’s net income for the quarter stood at 50 cents per share, in line with its previous corresponding quarter income of 50 cents per share. Noble was expected to report its income at 61 cents per share. The company also reported 27 percent increase in its operating costs and expenses. The stock is trading at $38.40, 3.63 percent lower than its previous close. It has traded in the range of $37.76 and $39.44 in the current trading session.  It has traded 5.007 million shares so far, in comparison to its daily average trading volume of 3.246 million shares. The stock has traded in the range of $28.73 and $41.71 in the past 52 weeks. The company stock trades at Price Earnings ratio of 18.83 and its beta is at 1.52.

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV): The company reported lower profits due to higher costs. The company’s revenue for the quarter increased 1.6 percent to $4.17 billion. Southwest Airlines was expected to report its revenue at $4.20 billion. Its net income for the quarter stood at $78 million, down from $152 million in net income it had reported for the corresponding quarter of the last year. Its stock traded in the range of $11.42 and $11.60 in the current trading session and at this point is at $11.53, up 1.50 percent.  The stock’s highest price point of 52 weeks stands at $11.60 while its lowest price point is at $7.76. Southwest Airlines stock is trading at Price Earnings ratio of 17.68 and its beta is 0.82. The company’s dividend yield stands at 0.30 percent.

3M Company (NYSE:MMM): The stock is currently trading at $99.71, up 0.22 percent. 3M Company reported its fourth quarter profit at $991 million, up from $954 million it had reported a year earlier. On per share basis, its income stood at $1.41 per share. The stock is trading in the range of $98.80 and $99.80 in the current trading session.  The stock is above its 20 days moving average price of $99.65 and 50 days moving average price of $99.54. In the past 52 weeks, the stock’s price range has been $81.99 and $99.82. The stock’s beta is 0.87 and its Price Earnings ratio is 15.95. 3M Company commands market capitalization of $69.01 million. 3M Company also beat consensus estimates for the quarterly revenue. It reported its revenue at $7.39 billion, surpassing consensus estimate of $7.18 billion.
