Starting a New Filter

You might now decide it is time you began constructing your personal investment scenarios, selecting from all the available criteria those which fit your personal requirements, and setting their constraints as loose, or as tight, as you prefer them to be.

How do you proceed then?

When you are in the launch-page of the tool, to start your own filter click on the Start FilterX button. Or, if you are in the core-page of the tool click on the Start a New Filter button. Immediately FilterX will reset to a new core-page containing the 3 criteria-menus and a table of results listing all UK companies by name and ticker symbol. Now FilterX is ready for you to add criteria and edit constraints.

Note: The table of companies is broken-down in views (or pages) of 100 entities per view. A page-meter tool is found immediately above the table. While using ADVFN's FilterX the page-meter allows you to see how many 'hundreds' of companies qualify for the criteria you set at any given moment and makes navigation through them easier.

When you first start the filtering process (before adding any criteria and editing any constraints) the page-meter will read a total of 35 pages, or so. This gives you the indication that the universe of LSE market consists of approximately 3,500 entities.
