SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Corp.
(NYSE: QTM) today announced the Artico™ NAS appliance has been
named a finalist in Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com's 2015
Product of the Year Awards for the Backup Hardware category. The
award recognizes products for their innovation, performance, ease
of integration, ease of use, functionality and value. The Artico
appliance can store and intelligently move data to a public or
private cloud, as well as to tape. Artico is increasingly being
adopted as the platform of choice for IT departments that realize a
tiered storage solution is the best way to meet the needs of a
"save everything" world where access performance and lower storage
and administration costs are required.

Artico: Smart, Simple Active Archive
The Artico
appliance provides a flexible, low-cost entry point for data
storage, with the ability to scale to petabytes of data as demand
grows. Powered by award-winning StorNext 5 data management
policies, Artico enables customers to store and retain data in a
tiered storage system that intelligently places the data on the
right technology at the right time, both on-premise or in the
cloud. Because Artico is a NAS appliance, it is easy to deploy into
environments where users can access files on Artico simply by
dragging and dropping or pointing their applications to Artico's
NAS share. Artico's integrated disk storage extends online access
to stored content, reducing the need for additional primary storage
to accommodate data growth.
This year's Product of the Year finalists were judged by a panel
of users, analysts, consultants and Storage magazine and
SearchStorage.com editors. The results will be published in the
February issue of Storage magazine and online.
"Increasingly, we see customers who recognize the role tiered
storage can play for managing their workflows," said Robert
Clark, senior vice president, Product Operations, Quantum. "Powered
by StorNext 5 data management policies, Artico redefines archive.
It stores and retains data in a tiered storage system that
intelligently places the data on the right technology at the right
time, on-premise or in the cloud."
