ATLANTA, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Personnel will be on
hand to talk about Northrop Grumman's (NYSE: NOC) vast array of
unmanned systems in addition to sustainment, modernization and
training solutions at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems
International's (AUVSI) trade show May
5-7 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Visitors to the
company's booth (#2219) will have a unique opportunity to engage
with unmanned systems in a virtual reality environment.
Media and visitors can try on an Oculus headset that allows them
to view one of the company's pre-eminent unmanned aircraft systems
(UAS) in a virtual, 3D environment. Northrop Grumman engineers
designed and integrated software into an Oculus headset to create a
virtual hangar with an incredibly lifelike high altitude long
endurance (HALE) UAS inside. With the headset on, users can
interact with and walk around the aircraft.
The X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstration aircraft,
which recently completed autonomous aerial refueling, will be part
of the company's exhibit. HALE platforms including the MQ-4C
Triton, the RQ-4 Global Hawk, NATO's Alliance Ground Surveillance
aircraft and NASA Global Hawk will be highlighted, in addition to
medium range tactical systems such as the MQ-8C Fire Scout, Bat and
R-Bat.
