Teleflex to Present at the 1st Congress of Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD)
May 05 2015 - 5:00PM
Business Wire
Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of
medical devices for critical care, urology and surgery, will
showcase its comprehensive surgical portfolio at the 1st Congress
of Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD) to be held
in Paris, France on May 7 - 9, 2015.
During the event, Teleflex will present its diversified range of
Weck® brand surgical instruments as well as Teleflex’s percutaneous
surgical solutions which includes the Percuvance™ and MiniLap®
Percutaneous Surgical Systems.
The Percuvance™ System has recently received FDA clearance and
CE Mark approval and represents a significant advance in minimally
invasive surgery (MIS). The basis of the system is a less than 3 mm
diameter shaft that, when connected to an introducer tool tip, can
be inserted percutaneously through the skin. The introducer tool
tip can then be exchanged outside the body for a wide variety of 5
mm interchangeable surgical tool tips. The shaft is sufficiently
strong to hold structures, and surgeons can use its interchangeable
tool tips to grasp, cut and manipulate tissue.
In addition, procedures using the Percuvance™ System require
fewer trocars and cause less trauma for the patient.
MiniLap® instruments, with their slim 2.3 mm shaft diameters,
can be percutaneously inserted using an integrated needle tip. The
grasper jaws or probe can then be deployed to grasp or coagulate
tissue. The patented deployment design allows grasper jaws to open
up to 12.5 mm to grasp difficult structures, like distended gall
bladders.
Teleflex offers minimally invasive surgeons a full line of Weck®
Access Devices, including the Weck Vista® Access portfolio,
providing confidence, clarity and control during general and
advanced laparoscopic procedures. The asymmetrically dilating Weck
Vista® Optical Trocar features excellent light transmission through
its transparent tip that enables clear visualization of tissue
layers during entry. It incorporates ridges on the cannula
providing excellent port stability particularly throughout extended
procedures.
The innovative design of the Weck EFx® Endo Fascial Closure
System provides key benefits for the surgeon and patient including
a special design for port closure and enables reproducible fascial
closure in varying body types with a controlled suture
delivery.
During the congress a Satellite Session is scheduled. The
symposium entitled “Understanding Deep Endometriosis from Diagnosis
to Innovative Treatment”, will be presented by Dr. Kevin Stepp from
the Carolinas HealthCare System at Mercy Hospital, North Carolina,
USA on Friday, May 8, at 14:45 - 16:15h in the Forum A-B-C
Room.
