PLANO, Texas, Feb. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The way consumers
order pizza has certainly changed over the years, from face-to-face
to over the phone to online to now, unquestionably, through their
smart digital devices.
Pizza Hut announced today that it set an all-time single-day
digital sales record on the day of The Big Game, amassing nearly
$12 million in sales (previous record
$10 million) with the highest rate of
change coming from orders via mobile web and mobile app. More than
60 percent of digital orders were placed via a smart device. In
fact, mobile orders represented roughly one-third of total
sales.
"Pizza Hut is intensively focused on giving consumers what they
want from a digital ordering experience, and the response we've
seen to that strategy has been incredible," said Jeff Fox, Chief Brand and Concept Officer, Pizza
Hut. "We want to take the time to thank our fans for choosing us on
Sunday as we know that there are a lot of choices out there. We're
proud to say that we deliver the best digital experience possible,
combined with our superior restaurant-quality food and
award-winning customer service."
Pizza Hut, which was the first pizza restaurant company in the
category to launch a pizza ordering app and ordering website, has
continued to make usability improvements to its suite of digital
ordering options after listening to what consumers want more than
anything else – making it easier to get a better pizza.
"Throughout the history of our company we have always
demonstrated that we will make the improvements needed for our
customers first, then our business," Fox said. "Our position of
leadership in the digital experience has never been stronger and
yesterday's record breaking Big Game customer response
says just that."

The Big Game. Available for a limited-time, the Stuffed Garlic

Flavor Menu. The pizza restaurant company also offered a
special-edition "Golden Garlic Knot" Pizza for 50 fans in honor of
the Golden Anniversary of The Big Game.
